My new laptop already has Windows 11 installed. I want to add it to our Windows 365 Family plan. How to do that.

You can just go ahead and install.

Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the subscription. Click on Apps on the left.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.

Windows 365 (Cloud PC) is a separate cloud service and is not included in Microsoft 365 Family (formerly Office 365 Home). Windows 365 is currently not available for individuals and requires a Windows 365 Business, Enterprise, Government, Frontline, or Agents subscription, which are designed for organizations.

A new Windows 11 laptop can be used with a Microsoft 365 Family plan to install and use Microsoft 365 Apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), but it cannot be “added” to a Windows 365 Family plan because such a plan does not exist.

To use Microsoft 365 on the new laptop, sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the Microsoft 365 Family subscription and install the apps (for example, via office.com as described in the referenced guidance).
