    Hi,

If your cursor has vanished and you’re only using the touchscreen, it often means the mouse pointer settings or drivers have been changed.

First, let’s see if the cursor is just hidden. Go to Settings → Devices → Mouse → Additional mouse options, then under the Pointer Options tab, make sure “Hide pointer while typing” is unchecked and that the pointer visibility is enabled.

If that doesn’t work, try disconnecting and reconnecting your mouse or touchpad, or plugging in a different mouse to see if the pointer comes back. Also, it might be a good idea to update or reinstall your mouse/touchpad drivers through Device Manager, as a driver issue can cause the cursor to disappear.

Finally, if you’re using a laptop, press the function key combination that toggles the touchpad (often Fn + F6/F9 depending on the brand) to make sure the pointer isn’t disabled. Once you’ve done these steps, your cursor should come back and stay visible on the screen.

Try these steps in Windows to make the mouse cursor visible again:

    1. Check mouse pointer visibility settings
      1. Select Start > Settings > Accessibility > Mouse pointer & touch.
      2. Under Mouse pointer style, pick a style and color that clearly contrasts with the screen.
      3. Use the Size slider to make the pointer larger so it is easier to see.
      4. Turn on Mouse pointer trails so movement leaves a visible trail.
    2. Turn on touch visual feedback (helps confirm where input is happening)
      1. In Settings > Accessibility > Mouse pointer & touch, turn on Touch indicator.
      2. Expand Touch indicator and select Make the circle darker and larger so taps are clearly visible.
    3. Use the “locate pointer” feature
      1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse > Additional mouse settings.
      2. On the Pointer Options tab, under Visibility, turn on Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key.
      3. Click OK/Apply.
      4. Press the Ctrl key to flash a visual indicator around the pointer so it can be found.

If the cursor is still not visible after these changes, restart Windows and test again, as a display or driver glitch can temporarily hide the pointer.
