Hello, I have a problem activating Microsoft Office.

I sign in with my email and enter the verification code correctly, but I receive a message saying that my account is not associated with this Office product.

I am not sure which account is linked to the license.

Can you please help me activate my Office or check which account is connected to it?

Thank you.

    Hello

Is this the first time activating it, or is this a reinstall/reactivation?

What's the full name of your Office products, for example, is it a subscription? If so, it should start with Microsoft 365, is it basic/personal/family/premium, or is it business basic/standard/premium, etc?

Or is it a one-time purchase license, such as Office 2024 Home, or Office Pro Plus 202X?

To activate Office, the email account used must be the one that is associated with the Office license. If the wrong account is used, messages such as “The account isn't associated with this Office product” or “We couldn't find any Office products” appear.

Use these steps to identify and use the correct account and fix the activation issue:

    1. Check which account has an Office license
      • Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services.
      • Sign in with each Microsoft account (personal email addresses) that might have been used to buy or redeem Office.
      • On this page, look for an active Microsoft 365 or Office product. If the Office product or Microsoft 365 subscription is not listed for that email address, that account is not associated with the license and will not work for activation.
    2. If using a work or school subscription
      • If Office was provided by an organization, sign in using the work or school account instead of a personal Microsoft account when activating Office.
      • If unsure who manages the subscription, see “How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin?” from the activation articles.
    3. Sign out of Office and sign back in with the correct account
      • Open any Office app (for example, Word).
      • Select the name/profile icon at the top and choose Sign out.
      • Close all Office apps.
      • Reopen Word (or another Office app).
      • When prompted, select Sign in and enter the email address that was confirmed to have the Office or Microsoft 365 subscription on the Services & subscriptions page, or the correct work/school account.
      • Try to activate again.
    4. If the error persists after using the correct account
      • Reset the Office/Microsoft 365 activation state as described in “Reset activation state for Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise” from the activation articles, then sign in again with the correct account.
      • If Office still shows as Unlicensed, verify that the subscription is not expired on the Services & subscriptions page. If the subscription has expired, Office will not activate until it is renewed.
    5. If only “Microsoft 365 Basic” is found
      • A Microsoft 365 Basic subscription includes OneDrive storage and web-based Office apps only; it does not include the right to install desktop Office apps. In that case, desktop Office cannot be activated with that subscription. A Microsoft 365 Personal or Family (or another qualifying Office license) is required to activate installed Office apps.

If none of the accounts tried show any Office or Microsoft 365 license under Services & subscriptions, or if the product was purchased through an organization, the next step is to contact the Microsoft 365 admin or the original seller/organization to confirm which account the license was assigned to.
