Hi,

I got locked out of my computer. The message on the screen says I should enter the 48 digit key. I could not find that key anywhere. Not on my account. Not in system files. Not printed out. In fact, i never requested encryption of my data and do not recall any key generated at all.

Now that I cannot work, I run a risk od having all my data erased or lost.

I need this sorted immediately as I will be losing clients and work.

In Windows 11 since version 24H2 was released, Bitlocker Encryption is enabled by default, this forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access.

If your drive is encrypted with Bitlocker, the only place the Bitlocker Recovery key is automatically stored is on the associated Microsoft account on the link below, be sure to check any Microsoft account that may have been used on the PC and also any work or school account that may be linked to the PC.

Are you able to find the Bitlocker Recovery Key on any account that may have been used or linked to the laptop?

If not, do you have a safe backup of your files, or use a cloud service like OneDrive to sync your files online.
