A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Pasting from a browser into Word does not automatically convert the text to a specific font such as Aptos. The paste options only control whether Word tries to keep the original formatting, merge it with the destination, or paste plain text.
To ensure pasted text ends up in Aptos, configure Word so that pasted content uses the formatting of the destination document, and make sure the destination style is set to Aptos:
- In Word, go to File > Options > Advanced.
- Under Cut, copy, and paste, for:
- Pasting within the same document
- Pasting between documents
- Pasting from other programs
choose an option that applies the destination formatting, such as Merge Formatting or Keep Text Only, instead of Keep Source Formatting.
- Select OK.
- In the document, set the font for the main paragraph style (for example, Normal) to Aptos. Any text pasted with Merge Formatting or Keep Text Only will then take on Aptos, because “the text takes on the style characteristics of the paragraph where it is pasted and takes on any direct formatting or character style properties of text that immediately precedes the cursor when the text is pasted.”
If Times New Roman appears, that is the default font of the style in the destination paragraph. Changing that style to Aptos and using Merge Formatting or Keep Text Only for pasting will make pasted text use Aptos.
