Hi Phillip Kolbe,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
For cases where an event that should be on March 13 appears in April when using an.ics file, the cause is usually related to the date/recurrence details inside the .ics file, or how the calendar was added (importing a file vs. subscribing to a link).
You can troubleshoot this quickly using one of the options below:
1. If you uploaded/imported the .ics file (one-time import):
- Open the event and check/adjust the Date, and (if it’s a repeating anniversary/recurring event) the Repeat/Recurrence settings to ensure it repeats on March 13 each year.
- If the item is editable in the interface, you may not need to edit the .ics file.
2. If you subscribed from the web (added the calendar using an ICS/iCal link):
- With a subscription, the calendar is driven by the source feed (and updates can be delayed), so the long-term fix is usually to correct the .ics data at the source.
- You may then need to remove and re-subscribe if required.
Important note: The “datestamp” you see in an .ics file is not always the field that determines where the event lands on the calendar view. To verify what Outlook is using, you typically need to check the event’s actual start/end date and any recurrence rules within the .ics content.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
