When I like a wallpaper (because I want more like it). It opens Bing/Microsoft Edge to more information... while this is cool if I want to learn more, and sometimes I do. I'd like a third option show me more wallpapers in the future (but doesn't open things as login to my desktop).

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your question here!

On Windows 10 Home there is no way to stop Microsoft Spotlight from opening Bing when you click Like what you see. That button is hard tied to Edge and Bing and there is no third option to just get more wallpapers silently. If you want to reduce the interruption your best option is to keep Spotlight only on the lock screen and use a normal picture or slideshow for the desktop. If you want zero popups at all you need to turn off Spotlight completely. Unfortunately, this is working as designed and cannot be changed.

    Hi,

There’s currently no way to stop image descriptions from opening in Edge when you click them. Windows Spotlight links have changed in recent updates, and now any interaction with them automatically opens the image details in Edge. If you’d like this behavior to change, you can submit feedback through the Feedback Hub app by pressing Windows + F. With enough upvotes, it may get Microsoft’s attention and lead to more options in future updates.

On Windows 10 Home, when liking a Microsoft/Bing wallpaper, the behavior of opening Bing/Edge for more information is built into the Bing/Spotlight experiences. The available controls in the provided information are:

    1. Turn off Bing/Spotlight images on Bing.com (browser)
      • On Bing.com, select Settings and quick links.
      • Turn off Show homepage image to stop Bing images and their interactive behavior on the homepage.
    2. Turn off Bing homepage videos or make them less interactive
      • Select Settings and quick links → expand SettingsMore.
      • Under HomepageVideos and panoramas, choose either:
        • Don't play automatically, or
        • Show a still image.
    3. Use Bing images only as desktop wallpaper without interacting in the browser
      • Install and use the Bing Wallpaper app to get the Bing image of the day as desktop background. This app updates the desktop background automatically and shows a brief description of the image, but interaction is focused on the desktop rather than opening the browser.

The context does not provide a setting that changes the “Like this wallpaper” action to only influence future wallpaper choices without opening Bing/Edge. To avoid the browser opening, avoid clicking the interactive “learn more/like” elements and instead rely on the Bing Wallpaper app’s automatic rotation.
