I cannot switch out of S mode

Whenever I try to press the help link to switch out of S mode on my laptop it opens the Microsoft store and then never loads and closes the app altogether on me. Why does this happen and how do I fix it?

    Open the start menu and type Windows Update and see if you have any updates pending.

    Click on the start menu Type 'WSreset.exe' and hit Enter.

    Restart your computer and see if the problem persists.

    Open the Settings app and go to System - Recovery.

    Click the "Install Now" button under "Fix problems using Windows Update."

    When finished, see if the problem persists.
