How do I reinstall excel and word

MS Excel and Word have been uninstalled from my Mac and I need to reinstall them. How do I do that?

Go to Finder > Applications.

Drag any other Office apps, such as PowerPoint or OneNote, to the Trash if they are installed.

Then go to your Microsoft account Services & Subscriptions page to download and install the entire Office suite on your Mac.

Use the Microsoft installer associated with the license or subscription.

If using a Microsoft 365 or Microsoft account–based license:

1. Open a web browser and sign in to the Microsoft account dashboard where the subscription or one-time purchase is registered (Services & subscriptions page).
2. Locate the Microsoft 365 or Office product.
3. Select Install to download the Office installer for Mac.
4. When the download finishes, open Finder > Downloads and double-click the installer package.
5. On the installer screens, select Continue, review and Agree to the license, then choose the install options and click Install.
6. Enter the Mac login password if prompted, then click Install Software.
7. When installation completes, click Close.
8. Open Launchpad and start Microsoft Word to begin activation, then follow the prompts.

If using a perpetual (one-time) Office 2019/2021/2024 for Mac license:

1. If any Office apps remain, open Finder > Applications, select the Microsoft Office apps, Ctrl+click and choose Move to Trash.
2. Download the appropriate Office for Mac installer package, for example:
   • Office 2024 for Mac Installer – https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2268730
   • Office 2021 for Mac Installer – https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2158744
   • Office 2019 for Mac Installer – https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=525133
3. Open Finder > Downloads and double-click the downloaded installer package.
4. On the installer screens, select Continue, then Agree, choose install options, and click Install.
5. Enter the Mac login password if prompted, then click Install Software.
6. When installation finishes, click Close.
7. Open Launchpad, start Microsoft Word, and select Get Started in the “What’s New” window to activate with the existing license.

If only Word and Excel are needed and a standalone Office 2019 license is owned:

1. Open a browser and download the individual apps:
   • Microsoft Word – https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=525134
   • Microsoft Excel – https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=525135
2. For each download, open Finder > Downloads, double-click the installer, and complete the installation steps as above.
3. Launch Word or Excel from Launchpad and complete activation.
