Stuck in sign in loop on personal account and I need to cancel subscription asap!

I have been trying to sign in to my personal account for several months. I get through the two factor authentication until I get to the parent/guardian consent section and then the loop starts all over again. I'm about to be charged a year subscription and I don't need a personal account anymore. Not being able to call or email someone about this is incredibly frustrating not to mention to get some more assistance I need to login into the account I CANNOT log into. Please help me!!!

    Hello Evelyn Rankmore

Since Q&A assist already provided several troubleshooting methods for this issue, I would like to add a method to contact Microsoft Support in case you need further assistance with the sign in issue:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, are not allowed to directly interfere with Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited solely to providing technical guidance on reported incidents, requests, or ideas.

I hope you can get this issue resolves, have a nice day.

To stop the upcoming Microsoft 365 charge without being able to sign in, use the supported cancellation paths that do not depend on fixing the sign-in loop first.

    1. Try cancelling via the payment provider
      • If the subscription is being paid with a credit/debit card or bank account, contact the card issuer or bank and ask them to block or stop recurring payments to Microsoft for this subscription.
      • This is explicitly recommended when the account cannot be accessed or ownership cannot be established.
    2. If the subscription was bought through a third party
      • If Microsoft 365 was purchased from a retailer (for example, Amazon, Best Buy, Harvey Norman) or via a mobile app store (Google Play or Apple App Store), cancellation must be done with that provider:
        • For Google Play purchases, see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
        • For Apple App Store purchases, request cancellation/refund via Apple support.
    3. If sign-in is required and cannot be fixed in time
      • Microsoft support cannot reset passwords or bypass account security, so if the sign-in loop prevents access and the subscription is directly with Microsoft, the practical immediate way to avoid the next charge is to:
        • Block the payment method (step 1), or
        • Work with the bank/card issuer to dispute or stop future recurring charges.
    4. For longer-term resolution of the sign-in loop
      • Use the Microsoft account sign-in helper and “Can’t sign in” guided tools to diagnose and fix sign-in issues, including loops and verification problems.
      • If the issue persists, use the Contact Microsoft Support path from the sign-in help article (from a different account if necessary) to reach support and describe the sign-in loop and parental-consent problem.

These steps let the subscription be stopped in time (via bank/retailer) while separately working on fixing the personal account access.
