    Hi,

Switching to a Business account directly is not supported from a 365 subscription. You must purchase it separately.

QA Assist has given you most of the steps to migrate, however, I would like to let you know that unless you need some specific business feature like multiple users for the same domain, you can keep using 365 personal until it lapses.

    Purchase and compare here:

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Otherwise, please take a moment to rate the answer. Wishing you good luck!

To move from Microsoft 365 Family (a home plan) to a Microsoft 365 for business subscription, follow these steps:

    1. Purchase a Microsoft 365 business subscription
      • Go to the Microsoft 365 for business offerings and buy the business plan that fits the needs.
      • During purchase, create or use a work account (business domain) as guided by the business signup flow.
    2. Keep the existing Family subscription separate (optional)
      • The Family subscription is tied to a personal Microsoft account and can continue to be used for personal/home use.
      • The new business subscription will be a separate tenant with its own admin center, users, and services.
    3. Move data from the personal (Family) account to the new business account (if needed)
      • OneDrive files: Sync both the personal OneDrive and the new OneDrive for work to a device, then drag and drop files between them. See “Migrate your OneDrive files” from the business migration article.
      • Outlook email, contacts, calendar: Export from the personal profile to a .pst file, then import into the new business mailbox using Outlook:
        • Export: Use “Export emails, contacts, and calendar items to Outlook using a .pst file”.
        • Import: Use “Import email, contacts, and calendar from an Outlook .pst file”.
    4. Use guidance specific to switching from home to business
      • For a structured migration and setup path, follow the steps in “Switch from Microsoft 365 for home to a business subscription” referenced in the home-vs-business article.
      • If help is needed, consider:
        • Working with a Microsoft 365 business partner via “Find the right partner for you”.
        • Booking a free consultation with Microsoft product experts where available via “Contact product experts online.”
    5. Decide what to do with the Family subscription
      • If the Family plan is no longer needed, it can be allowed to expire or be managed via the personal account’s Services & subscriptions page.
      • If still useful for personal or family members, keep it active alongside the new business subscription.
