How do i verify my account

I need to verify my account but the main problem at hand is that I physically cannot give enough information for them to say that its mine (since I only used it for verification in games like Minecraft and btd6), I don't have any previous passwords, I don't have anybody email me, and the credit card linked to the purchases I made is from so long ago that I don't even know the date of expiry, the only hope I have is with Xbox but even then I don't have enough information for it, since with Xbox the only thing I used it for was Minecraft and I didn't log into Xbox I just downloaded the Xbox application on my pc, this has bugged me for the 3 years I haven't had access to my email and now I can't re log into my bloons tower defense 6 account because I can't access the email associated with it. I'm stuck, if there is any way that I can talk to an actual person who is a part of the Microsoft team whether it be on call or just a response to this I would really appreciate it. I'm stumped, I don't know what to do and I want to play with my friends but that is harder because all of my progress is in accounts associated with the account I can no longer access.

    Hi Chilli bailey

I understand you are having problem with verifying/recovering a Microsoft account that was only used for games, so you don’t have enough historical detail to pass account verification.

If you have not signed in for years, first check whether the account is now inactive/closed

If the account was closed and the grace period has passed, you can no longer reopen it. If you haven’t signed in for more than two years, the account may have been deleted and can’t be reopened.

I know this is not the outcome you wanted. Thank you for your time and patience.

Based on the described situation, the only available paths are the standard self-service recovery and support channels. If the required ownership information cannot be provided, Microsoft cannot manually override account security.

    Use these steps in order:

    1. Try the Sign-in Helper and standard recovery
      • If the account still exists and there is at least some security info left, start with the sign-in helper: Sign-in helper.
      • If codes are not arriving, review the guidance in Troubleshoot Microsoft verification code issues (for example, avoiding repeated code requests, checking junk mail, avoiding VOIP numbers, and regional SMS limits).
    2. If locked out and missing security info
      • If the password is known but security info (phone/email) is no longer accessible, follow the “I’ve lost access to my Microsoft account security info” flow:
        1. Begin sign-in to the Microsoft account.
        2. At the “Verify your identity” prompt, select I don't have any of these.
        3. Follow the instructions to replace security info.
        4. After replacement, there is a mandatory 30‑day wait before normal sign-in is allowed. During those 30 days, if old security info is recovered and used, the update is canceled.
    3. If the password is not known and no security info is accessible
      • Use the Microsoft account recovery form (ACSR):
        1. Read the guidance in Help with the Microsoft account recovery form to understand what information helps (old passwords, devices, usage patterns, etc.).
        2. Go to the recovery form: Recover account.
        3. Provide a working alternate email (can be a new Outlook.com address or a friend/relative’s address) where Microsoft can contact about the request.
        4. Submit as much accurate information as possible and wait for the review (typically within 24 hours). The form can be retried with improved details.
    4. Important limitations
      • If two-step verification was turned on and none of the verification methods are accessible, support agents are not allowed to reset the password or bypass verification.
      • Support (phone/chat) cannot send verification codes, cannot change security info, and cannot override a failed recovery form.
      • If the recovery form and security-info replacement flows fail because insufficient proof of ownership is available, there is no alternative Microsoft-side method to regain access.
    5. Contacting a real person
      • For technical questions and guidance (not for bypassing security), use Contact Microsoft Support as described in Troubleshoot Microsoft verification code issues → Need more help?:
        • Go to Contact Microsoft Support.
        • Enter the problem (for example, “account recovery”) and select Get Help.
        • If still needed, choose Contact Support to reach the available support option (such as chat) for the region and product.
      • Support can explain the process and confirm limitations but cannot unlock the account without successful self-service verification.

If the account ultimately cannot be recovered due to lack of verifiable information, game progress tied to that Microsoft account (including Xbox/Minecraft-linked data) cannot be restored through Microsoft account tools. In that case, contacting the individual game publishers’ support (e.g., for Bloons TD 6 or Minecraft) to ask about any alternative account-linking or migration options is the only remaining path.
