I tried to look up anything else about this, but I haven't used the tenant for a little bit and would like to get back to using it for the microsoft learn practice, but I am getting the blocked due to inactivity stuff.

What can I do to resolve this?

Microsoft Security | Microsoft Entra | Microsoft Entra ID

The message “AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity” means the Microsoft Entra tenant has been marked inactive and access is currently blocked.

Resolution options depend on how long the tenant has been inactive:

    1. If the tenant has been inactive (and blocked) for less than 20 days
      • The tenant can still be reactivated.
      • A tenant administrator must contact Microsoft support and request reactivation:
        • Use the global support phone numbers listed in the documentation: see global support phone numbers in the “Tenant inaccessible due to inactivity” article.
      • Do not open multiple support requests for the same tenant; wait for the decision on the first case.
    2. If the tenant has been inactive (and blocked) for more than 20 days
      • After 20 days in the inaccessible state, the tenant is deleted and cannot be recovered.
      • In that case, a new tenant must be created to continue using Azure/Microsoft Entra for Microsoft Learn practice.
    3. Additional practical steps from similar cases
      • Try signing in directly to the tenant in the Azure portal using the tenant ID or tenant name in the URL, for example:
        • https://portal.azure.com/<yourTenantName>.onmicrosoft.com
      • If the tenant is already unrecoverable, create a new tenant from the Microsoft Entra admin center (Entra ID → Overview → Manage tenants → Create new tenant) and then use that new tenant domain when signing into the Azure portal.

If the tenant is still within the 20‑day reactivation window, contacting Microsoft support as a tenant admin is the required path to restore it.
