When will "New Message" be reintroduced back into Quick Steps? This has become a real inconvenience not having this. i have to send out constant emails with the same layout to the same groups and now I have to copy and paste every time instead of just using a quick step like before.

    Dear @Will Jalbert,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, you want to know when will the ‘New Message’ action be reintroduced into Quick Steps, and there is a planned timeline for bringing this feature back.

Unfortunately, there is no announced or documented timeline for reintroducing "New Message” into Quick Steps in the New Outlook for Windows (and Outlook on the web).

However, many features have been developed or improved based on users' feedback. If this feature is critical to your workflow, I recommend you submit it directly via:

New Outlook > Help > Feedback > Suggest a feature.

Or you can submit you feedback via the feedback forum link Ideas · Community.

The product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback, The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. You also can leave the feedback link in here after you submit in order to me and other users who have the similar idea as you can vote it.

Please understand that as forum moderator, my primary goal is to provide helpful guidance and support through general troubleshooting steps. While I don’t have access to internal systems or test devices required to resolve backend issues, I truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations. I genuinely hope the information I share helps guide you in the right direction, and I'm always here to assist as much as I can within my scope.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.

Quick Steps in Outlook can currently automate actions only on existing messages (for example, move, mark as read, forward, reply, flag, etc.). They do not include an action to create a brand-new message in the New Outlook experience, and there is no documented option or timeline in the provided information for reintroducing a “New Message” Quick Step.

For repetitive layouts and recipients, the supported pattern is to use Quick Steps on received messages (for filing, marking done, deferring, etc.) and combine that with other features such as templates or standard replies, rather than a Quick Step that starts a new message. Quick Steps remain message-focused automation, as described in the documentation.
