How to change my Legal name

My legal name is incorrect in my profile right now. I want to change it to First name: Mohammad, Middle name: blank, Last name: Sana.

You update your Legal name on your Microsoft Learn profile under Settings https://learn.microsoft.com/users/me/settings

If you have an exam booked, you will be shown a message and link to contact Credentials support https://learn.microsoft.com/credentials/support/help#how-to-submit-a-support-request

For an Outlook.com / Microsoft account, the “legal name” shown in profile and on services is controlled by the Microsoft account display name. It can be updated as follows:

1. Sign in to your Microsoft account profile page.
2. Go to Your info.
3. Select Edit name.
4. Set:
   • First name: Mohammad
   • Middle name: leave blank
   • Last name: Sana
5. Save the changes.

It can take up to 24 hours for the updated name to appear everywhere (including Outlook on the web and other Microsoft services).

If the incorrect name comes from an organization (work or school account) or an HR system, only the organization’s admin/HR can change it. In that case, contact the IT or HR department or your Microsoft 365 admin and ask them to update your name in Microsoft Entra ID / Microsoft 365.
