How to skip 30 day security period when changing phone number

I recently moved to another country and thus had to change my phone number, which I also did in microsoft. Unfortunately, this alarmed the security feature of microsoft, which is generally good.

Not good about this is that I do not have access to Azure anymore. This will last for at least 30 days. Is there a way to authenticate before that period? I kind of need access to restore some tokens in entra.

Would be happy to receive some help here asap.

Happy day!

The 30‑day restriction period cannot be skipped or shortened.

When all existing security info (such as the old phone number) is removed and replaced with new info, the Microsoft account is placed into a restricted state for 30 days. During this period, access to certain services (including Azure/Entra) can be blocked, and the system requires waiting for the 30 days to complete before the new security info becomes fully active.

This behavior is by design to protect the account in case the security info was changed by someone with unauthorized access. There is no supported method to bypass or accelerate this 30‑day waiting period.

During the 30 days, Microsoft sends notifications to the original security info to alert about the change. If the change was not made by the account owner, the instructions in the “You didn't make the changes” section of the referenced article should be followed (not shown in the provided context), but this is for suspected compromise rather than for skipping the wait.
