Lost my codes to Rockstar Games Social account.

I deleted my Authenticator app, but before deleting I forgot to take backup of the codes in the account. When I logged in again in the app, the codes were gone. Is there any way I can get them back?

No, the lost one-time password (OTP) entries in Microsoft Authenticator cannot be recovered if there was no backup configured before the app was deleted.

Microsoft Authenticator only restores accounts from a prior backup:

• On Android, backups are stored via Cloud Backup to a Microsoft personal account and must be explicitly turned on in Settings.
• On iOS, backups use iCloud (iCloud Drive/Keychain/Backup) and must be enabled on the device.

If backup was not enabled before deleting the app, the OTP secrets for third‑party accounts (like Rockstar Games Social) are not stored anywhere else by Microsoft and cannot be reconstructed. In that case, the only option is to go to Rockstar’s own account recovery or security/MFA reset process and reconfigure their 2FA with a new QR code/secret in Microsoft Authenticator.

For future protection:

• Turn on backup in Microsoft Authenticator (Cloud Backup on Android or iCloud backup on iOS) so OTP accounts can be restored if the app is deleted or the phone is replaced.
