A payment was taken the the bank for £276.48 on Monday 23rd March at 10:07am. Please can you tell me what this was for? Also, I will need an invoice for this payment for the accounts. This is not on my main account so hence why I am asking.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Based on your description, the subscription charge came from a different Microsoft account. Kindly follow the guide on the official Microsoft website to investigate and locate the charge/s from Microsoft on this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93

If you're able to find the transaction and if this happens to be unwanted subscription renewals, you can check if it is eligible for a refund through this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription-67dca30b-b323-44d5-acc2-e02f9902c472

You may also try contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance in tracking the transaction:

    https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=S.HP.SmcContactUsLanding

Type "Billing Issue" > click "Get Help" > Scroll down to Sign in to Contact Support > Microsoft 365 and Office > Billing and Payment Updates > Confirm > Chat with a support agent in your web browser

If you and the Support Team are unable to find the transaction in all of your accounts, you'll need to contact your financial institution/bank directly to dispute it, and they may process a refund, as this would be considered a fraudulent charge.

You may also need to have your card blocked and request a new one.

Thank you for your understanding! Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

To identify what the £276.48 charge was for and get an invoice, use the Microsoft self-service billing tools, since only the account holder can see charge details.

    1. Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard: Manage your payments.
    2. Sign in with any Microsoft account that might be associated with this payment (including work, school, or any secondary/past personal accounts).
    3. Locate the £276.48 charge in the list of payments and select Investigate next to it. This will show:
      • Which subscription or purchase it relates to
      • Which Microsoft account it is tied to
      • Whether it is a recurring subscription, pre-order, in-app purchase, or other charge
    4. If the charge is tied to a Microsoft Store order, sign in to Order history at Order history with the account identified in step 3.
      • Find the matching order and select Order detail.
      • Select Tax invoice to download the invoice for your accounts. Note that tax invoices can take 48 hours up to 5 days after purchase to become available.
    5. If the charge is for a Microsoft 365 or other subscription, go to Subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services with the same account to confirm the active subscription and billing details.
    6. If the charge still cannot be identified or the invoice cannot be downloaded, contact Microsoft Support directly (via the Microsoft Support contact page or through the Microsoft 365 admin center if using a business subscription) and provide:
      • Date and time of charge (23 March, 10:07am)
      • Amount (£276.48)
      • Last 4 digits of the card or bank reference They can look up the transaction and help provide or resend the invoice.

If the charge is not recognized after investigation, follow the same Manage your payments → Investigate flow to review possible causes (recurring subscriptions, family member purchases, re-tried charges, etc.), and then use the refund/cancellation guidance from the linked support articles if needed.
