Hi. Which macOS version are you using and was To Do recently updated? On Mac, To Do hangs are usually fixed by:
Quit To Do completely and restart your Mac
Delete the app from Applications
Reinstall the latest version from the Mac App Store or Microsoft site
Make sure macOS is up to date too.
