     2. Select Go to Microsoft Store and follow the instructions if a new key is needed.
3. If the PC is pre-owned
   • If Windows 11 Home came preinstalled on a used PC, the previous owner may have used the same key on multiple devices. In that case:
     • Request the original Windows DVD and product key from the seller.
     • If these are not available or still do not work, a new product key or copy of Windows must be purchased.
4. If there were recent hardware changes
   • Substantial hardware changes (for example, replacing the motherboard or drive) can cause Windows to show as not activated.
