WINDOWS 11 UPDATES have made my NEW ASUS VIVOBOOK UN-USABLE! I NEED A FIX!!! (I'm SCREAMING @ MICROSOFT!)

As described in the title, I am unable to use CTR/ALT/DEL to gain access to T.M., I am unable to see/use any mouse/touchpad, etc. ALT/f4 will not work, I cannot get to the power tab screen, nor to device mgr. to delete mouse/reboot. So, with all that said, WTH do I do to regain control of my laptop & HD files? This was a brand new WIN 11 Asus Vivobook that worked PERFECTLY FINE before these current updates. Anyone? It would be of great help!

T.M. = Task Manager? It works for me, and my computer is completely up to date.

Hi, good day!

Restart your computer, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold the Power Button for 5 - 8 seconds or until it performs a Hard Shut Down

Do this 2 - 3 times until Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates

Uninstall latest quality update

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair

If this doesn't work, Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore

Select the restore point at an earlier date where everything is still working.

Click Next then Finish

Hey John! One would think MS would PULL these inferior updates when they KNOW they aren't working or they just have zero QC testing this stuff. UGH! Anyway, my mind was on meltdown so I'm not at home until tomorrow. I shall give your suggestion a go & will be reporting back. I have faith it shall work. WIN 11 has been & continues to be a terrible version. Thx again!

Totally get the frustration. Updates can be hit or miss sometimes.

Well John, granted after a few tries as ASUS is a bit finicky, I was in. However, again ASUS has a few layers. Sadly I had not made a B.U. nor a restore point so neither helped. Then trying to just re-install windows with no actual drive other than USB I have no restore drive, so that doesn't work. So found an uninstall update, went in there 2 options, did both one said it removed update, the other said it couldn't find/remove anything. Even though connected to the net cannot get to an address bar to try & find a WIN 11. Also at this point the mouse works, SO I decided to just go back into what was/is stored on this drive, okay I'm in but now again not much seemed to have changed as again the mouse is not working! UGH! Now what? I think it's over for this thing. Your thoughts, John, anyone, MICROSOFT-if you are reading this. ASUS, anything? Maybe just return it?

Do you use the built-in or external USB mouse?

When you said, "SO I decided to just go back into what was/is stored on this drive", did you perform a Reset this PC?

Well I talked to a friend that owns an ASUS & he solved it..There is a combo of keys to turn off touchpad. Done, somehow I hit those keys..anyhow I thank YOU John for your input. Cheers!

If anything, you can always delete the update from settings altogether, or try upgrading your computer's RAM to handle it better.
