    Hello Mia Van Der Stam,

I'm sorry to hear you're having a frustrating experience with the MSN feed. The good news is it can be turn off entirely.

To remove the MSN news feed from your Edge new tab page:

    1. Open a new tab in Edge.
    2. Click the gear icon (Page settings) in the top-right corner.
    3. Under Content, select Off.

Once that's done, your new tab page will no longer show any news, articles, or MSN content — it'll be a clean, minimal page with just your search bar and shortcuts.

If you'd like Edge to open your preferred news site automatically instead, here's how to set that up:

    1. Click the three-dot menu (...) in the top-right corner of Edge > Settings.
    2. In the left panel, select Start, home, and new tabs.
    3. Under When Edge starts, select Open these pages > Add a new page.
    4. Enter the URL of your preferred news site and click Add.

From then on, Edge will open straight to your chosen site every time you launch it — no MSN involved at all.

I hope that gives you a more pleasant browsing experience going forward.

To stop seeing MSN content in Microsoft Edge and on the Windows start experience, adjust or turn off the MSN-powered news feed rather than trying to remove MSN itself.

    In Microsoft Edge (latest version):

    1. Open a new tab (the Edge default homepage).
    2. Select the settings cog in the upper-right corner of the page.
    3. To reduce MSN news:
      • Choose Focused mode. This hides the news feed by default; it only appears if scrolling down.
    4. To turn MSN news off entirely:
      • Choose Custom mode.
      • Set Content to Content Off. This disables the news feed on the default homepage/new tab page.

In older versions of Microsoft Edge:

    1. On the Edge default homepage, select the Hide Feed link at the top right.
    2. On the page that opens, under Page Display Settings, choose either:
      • Top Sites or
      • A Blank Page to turn off the news feed.
    3. To re-enable later, select Top Sites and My Feed.

If the goal is to keep using Edge/Windows but avoid MSN news, these settings remove or minimize MSN content so another news site can be used directly (by setting a different homepage or visiting that site manually).
