To delete a question, follow the delete flow for the product or service where the question exists:
- In Microsoft Forms, select the question and choose Delete question (trash can icon). This permanently deletes the question, its translated versions, and any response data for that question. If the form was created in Excel for the web or OneDrive for work or school and is synced with an Excel workbook, previously collected response data remains in the workbook even though the question is deleted from the form.
- In Microsoft Q&A, only moderators can delete questions. A moderator opens the question, selects the overflow menu (…), chooses Delete, confirms deletion of the thread, selects a reason, and then confirms with Yes, delete content. The full question thread is then deleted and removed from question and tag lists.
- In Viva Pulse standalone questions, company-created questions can be deleted from Question management by selecting the … menu on the question row and choosing Delete. Deletion cannot be undone. Built-in Pulse questions can only be deactivated, not deleted.
If the question is part of an Azure Load Testing configuration, deleting the associated test from the Tests list in the Azure portal via Delete test will remove the test and all its runs, logs, results, and metrics.
