    Hey there, @Mark Vila !

Another thing to try - apart from the brilliant solutions - could be just to turn off and on Bluetooth. If that doesn't work, then try going to "Settings" (App), then "Bluetooth and other devices", then select your audio device (with name), and click on "Disconnect" and "Remove device", or just "Remove device" if the audio device isn't connected to the targeted connection device. And, if all above fails, just restart! You might have an update due!

Hopefully you find one of the above solutions helpful! Please let me know if they don't work.

    Hi Mark Vila,

I understand how frustrating it is when you can be heard clearly but can’t hear anything back. Let’s check a few other things that are commonly missed with Bluetooth earpieces like the Plantronics / Poly 5200. Have you already tried the Q&A Assist suggestions? In addition, please try the following.

Step 1: Disable Windows audio enhancements for the earpiece

Sometimes enhancements block sound on mono Bluetooth devices.

    1. Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound
    2. Under “Output”, select your 5200 earpiece
    3. Click “Audio enhancements”
    4. Set it to “Off”, then test the audio again

    Step 2: Check Communications settings

Windows may be automatically muting playback when it detects a call device.

    1. Press Windows + R, type mmsys.cpl, press Enter
    2. Go to the “Communications” tab
    3. Select “Do nothing”
    4. Click Apply > OK, then reconnect the earpiece

Step 3: Temporarily disable Hands‑Free Telephony

Some earpieces only output audio correctly when used as a headset device.

    1. Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices
    2. Click the 5200 earpiece
    3. Select “More devices and printer settings”
    4. Right‑click the earpiece > “Properties” > “Services” tab
    5. Uncheck “Hands‑Free Telephony”, then click Apply
    6. Disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth, then test audio

    Hi! Let me help you.

When connected, is the 5200 earpiece selected as the audio output (playback device)?

Do you see multiple options like:

    “Headphones (Stereo)”

    “Headset (Hands-Free)”

    Which one is currently selected?

Follow these steps on Windows to restore audio to the 5200 earpiece while keeping the microphone working:

    1. Confirm Windows is using the earpiece as the output device
      1. Click the Sound icon in the taskbar.
      2. In the output list, select the 5200 earpiece as the audio output device.
      3. Then select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      4. Under Output / Choose your output device, select the 5200 earpiece.
    2. Make sure audio is routed to the Bluetooth device
      1. Press Windows logo key + I to open Settings.
      2. Go to System > Sound.
      3. Under Choose where to play sound (or Output), select the 5200 earpiece and ensure it is marked as selected.
    3. Check that the Bluetooth device is fully connected (not just paired)
      1. Press Windows logo key + I.
      2. Go to Bluetooth & devices.
      3. Verify the 5200 earpiece shows as Connected. If it only shows as Paired, select it to connect.
    4. Reconnect the earpiece
      1. In Settings > Bluetooth & devices, locate the 5200 earpiece.
      2. Select More options (…) or the device entry and choose Remove device.
      3. Select Add device, put the earpiece in pairing mode, and pair it again.
    5. Adjust audio format (Windows 11)
      1. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
      2. Select the 5200 earpiece, then Advanced sound properties (must be connected to see this).
      3. Under Output settings, set Format to 2 channels, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).
    6. Update Bluetooth drivers
      1. Select Start > Device Manager.
      2. Expand Bluetooth and select the Bluetooth adapter (may include the word “radio”).
      3. Right-click it and select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
      4. Complete the wizard, then restart the PC if prompted and test the earpiece again.
    7. If still no sound
      • Turn Bluetooth off and back on from Settings > Bluetooth & devices, wait 10 seconds between off and on, then reconnect the earpiece.
      • Ensure the earpiece supports A2DP (stereo audio) in its documentation; if it does not, Windows may only use it as a call device (microphone + narrowband audio).
