i want to delete permanently my ******@hotmail.co.uk email address but not one drive etc

Delete an Alias

1. Go to account.microsoft.com
2. Sign in → click Your info → Manage how you sign in to Microsoft
3. Find the alias you want to remove → click Remove
4. Confirm the removal

Add a New Alias

1. On the same page (Manage how you sign in to Microsoft), click Add email
2. Choose to create a new outlook.com address or add an existing email
3. Enter the alias → click Add alias
4. Verify via the confirmation email if adding an existing address

To permanently stop using a specific @hotmail.co.uk email address while keeping access to services like OneDrive, remove that email address as an alias from the Microsoft account instead of closing the entire account.

Important consequences:

• Removing an @hotmail.co.uk alias permanently deletes that email address.
• It cannot be added back to any Microsoft account later.
• The Microsoft account itself (and access to OneDrive, Xbox, etc.) remains, as long as there is at least one other alias/username on the account.

Steps to remove the hotmail.co.uk email address:

1. Go to Manage how you sign in to your account: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=842796 and sign in with the Microsoft account.
2. Under the list of aliases/usernames, select Remove next to the @hotmail.co.uk address that should be deleted.
3. If that address is currently the primary alias, first choose another alias and select Make primary for it, then remove the hotmail.co.uk address.

Do not use the “Close your Microsoft account” option if OneDrive and other services must remain available. Closing the Microsoft account would delete email, contacts, and access to all Microsoft services tied to that account.
