    Try this:

Open Device Manager, and make sure you've audio drivers installed and properly working.

If no audio driver is listed, you can visit your device manufacturer's website to download and install audio drivers for your system model.

If audio driver is present, you can try updating audio drivers to latest version.

Or if you've already updated them, try to roll back previous version to see if that works.

Also, run Playing Audio troubleshooter from Settings app > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Let us know what it reports back.

Try these steps in order on the Windows 11 laptop:

    1. Confirm the correct output device
    • Select the speaker icon on the taskbar.
    • In the output device list, make sure the laptop’s built‑in speakers are selected (not a TV, monitor, Bluetooth device, or headset that might have been disconnected during the move).
    1. Check Windows Update and restart
    • Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.
    • Select Check for updates and install any available updates.
    • After updates install, select Start > Power > Restart to apply audio‑related updates.
    1. Update the audio driver
    • In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it.
    • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    • Right‑click the laptop’s audio device (for example, Realtek or Intel audio) and select Update driver.
    • Select Search automatically for drivers and follow the prompts.
    • If no driver is found, later download the latest audio driver from the laptop manufacturer’s support site and install it.
    1. Reinstall the audio driver
    • In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, right‑click the audio device and select Uninstall device.
    • Check Attempt to remove the driver for this device if available, then select Uninstall.
    • Restart the PC (save work first). Windows will automatically reinstall the audio driver after restart.
    1. Try the generic Windows audio driver
    • Open Device Manager again.
    • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    • Right‑click the audio device and select Update driver.
    • Select Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
    • Choose the generic audio driver shown, select Next, and complete the installation.

If the issue started after a Windows Update and sound previously worked, rolling back the audio driver from the device Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver can also be tried.

If none of these steps restore sound, the move may have caused a hardware issue with the speakers or audio jack, and the device manufacturer’s support should be contacted.
