I can not install the update KB5086672 because of error code 0x800f0922. I am unable to rollback my updates, and since this failure, my audio no longer functions. I've run the troubleshooters, updated drivers, and my audio is still unavailable. Bluetooth will connect, but not register audio, and plugging in headphones doesn't work either. I've tried manually installing the update, and it still fails.

    Hi Bree,

    Please perform an In-place upgrade.

Disclaimer: Let’s try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides: How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft Community

After doing so, your system will get 25H2 without recent updates. You may choose to update to the latest patch before KB5086672 and pause Windows Update to wait for further patches.

If you have further information, please feel free to let me know.

    Hi, good day!

What is the exact make and model of your computer?

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: msinfo32

    Press Enter

Please take a screenshot of the System Information window and post it in your next response. Note: Don't include any personal information or sensitive data as Microsoft Q&A is a public forum.

    Open Device Manager

Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

Right-click your audio device (e.g. Realtek Audio, Intel Smart Sound, Conexant, etc.)

    Click Uninstall device.

Tick "Attempt to remove the driver for this device" box

    Restart your computer.

Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

If this does not work, it would be best to visit your manufacturer's support page to download and install the latest Audio driver for your device.

I look forward to your update and am happy to continue working with you until the issue is resolved. If you find the answer helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and consider upvoting it. Otherwise, please keep me posted by clicking "Add comments" below instead of selecting Yes or No.
