To get a completely fresh start for Starfield on Windows 11, remove the game and its data, then reinstall it.

    1. Uninstall Starfield
      • If installed from Microsoft Store/Xbox app, uninstall it from Settings > Apps > Installed apps (or Apps & features) by selecting Starfield and choosing Uninstall.
    2. Remove leftover app data (fresh save state)
      • Delete Starfield’s local save/config folders so no corrupted or old saves remain. (Exact paths are not in the provided context, but the goal is to remove all Starfield-related user data so the game behaves like a first launch.)
    3. Make sure Windows and Store are healthy
      • On Windows 11, if there are issues with Store apps or game installs, follow these steps:
        1. Close and reopen the game and Microsoft Store.
        2. Ensure Windows is up to date: Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates, then Install now if available.
        3. Update Microsoft Store: open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates and let it install updates.
        4. If needed, repair/reset the game entry from Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Starfield > Advanced options > Repair/Reset (if available for that app).
    4. Reinstall Starfield
      • Open Microsoft Store or Xbox app where Starfield was purchased.
      • Go to Library, find Starfield, and select Install to download a clean copy.
    5. If system corruption is suspected
      • If game files keep corrupting or other Store apps misbehave, consider using Reset this PC with Keep my files to refresh Windows while preserving personal files:
        • This reinstalls Windows, removes apps and settings, but keeps documents/photos.
        • Choose Cloud download for the freshest Windows image if local files might be corrupted.

After these steps, Starfield will behave as if it is being run for the first time, with no previous saves or configuration remaining.
