I still have the same issue. Copilot has become unusable!!
Copilot has become unusable – infinite loading, repeated prompts, and verification issues
Hello,
Over the past two weeks, Copilot has unfortunately become completely unusable for me.
Whenever I send a prompt, it often keeps loading indefinitely without producing any response. On the rare occasion that it does work, it gets stuck repeating the same prompt over and over again, continuously loading without stopping. If I press "stop," the same response appears duplicated multiple times.
This behavior also occurs without any interaction from my side. For example, when I reload the chat, Copilot immediately starts re-running the last prompt—even though it never completes and just keeps loading endlessly. Even after pressing "stop," it sometimes resumes loading again after a few seconds.
Additionally, I am now frequently asked to verify that I am human. This has never happened before and only started occurring recently.
These issues have all appeared within the last two weeks, and as a result, I am no longer able to use Copilot at all.
I have already tried:
- Clearing the browser cache
- Deleting chats
Unfortunately, neither of these steps has resolved the problem.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Are there any additional troubleshooting steps I can try?
Thank you in advance.

Based on similar Copilot issues across Microsoft products, the most effective next steps are:
- Check service availability and network
- Ensure a stable internet connection; intermittent or slow connectivity can cause infinite loading and repeated retries, as seen with other Copilot experiences when the service is temporarily unreachable.
- If using a corporate network, VPN, or proxy, test Copilot from a different network (for example, a mobile hotspot) to rule out network filtering or throttling.
- Sign out and refresh credentials
- Sign out of the Microsoft account used with Copilot in the browser.
- Close all browser windows, then sign back in and try Copilot again.
- This is similar to other Copilot scenarios where refreshing or re-establishing credentials resolves odd behavior.
- Try a different browser or InPrivate/Incognito session
- Use a different browser (for example, Edge vs Chrome) to see if the behavior is browser-specific.
- Open an InPrivate/Incognito window and sign in fresh; this bypasses most extensions and cached state that could interfere with Copilot.
- Wait and retry if the backend is under load or unavailable
- Copilot components can return generic errors or hang when backend capacity is constrained or the service is temporarily unavailable. In such cases, waiting and retrying later is required.
- If the issue persists, contact support
- For home users, if Copilot continues to hang, repeat prompts, or frequently trigger human verification despite the steps above, contact Microsoft Support for further investigation.
- For business users, contact the organization’s Microsoft 365 admin and have them open a support ticket with Microsoft so logs and tenant-level configuration can be checked.
These steps align with how other Copilot experiences are troubleshot when they become unreachable, loop, or fail to respond.
