I have not been able to get any help with the above-mentioned issues except fix suggestions that don't work. Such as uninstalling and reinstalling OneDrive, I did that and it still won't sign in. When I try to sign into OneDrive of send feedback about this or other problems, I get a message saying I need to be on the internet and to check my internet connection. Of course I am on the internet but the app or site doesn't recognize it. I have been sending emails to Microsoft Support and OneDrive support and getting no response so apparently my outgoing email isn't working although I receive emails.

In the past technical problems were corrected by a technician remotely taking control of my laptop to fix things. I think that may be necessary now, SPG

Can you go check your Windows Settings > Windows update, and see if you might have  KB5085516 available to install?

KB5085516 was released on March 21st to address Microsoft account sign in issue among some apps caused by KB5079473 https://support.microsoft.com/topic/march-21-2026-kb5085516-os-builds-26200-8039-and-26100-8039-out-of-band-09e85404-1cb6-4ed4-9ca5-3e40d74307b9

Multiple Microsoft apps reporting “no internet” and OneDrive not signing in usually indicates either:

    • A sign-in/OneDrive–specific problem
    • A network/firewall/VPN/security product blocking Microsoft services

    Work through these focused checks:

    1. Confirm account and password
    2. Re‑sign into OneDrive sync app
      • If the OneDrive icon in the taskbar is gray or has a line through it, it is not signed in.
      • Select the gray/blocked OneDrive icon.
      • On the “Set up OneDrive” screen, enter email address and password.
      • If the account is a personal Microsoft account and the username/password are not accepted, use the Microsoft account sign‑in helper: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2200933
      • For work/school accounts, reset the password using: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2153608 or contact the organization’s IT admin.
    3. Check if OneDrive is being blocked by internet provider or firewall
      • If sign‑in works in a browser but the OneDrive app still says it is not connected or “needs internet,” the connection may be blocked.
      • Temporarily connect the PC through a mobile hotspot and try signing into OneDrive again.
      • If it works on hotspot but not on the normal connection, contact the internet service provider and confirm they allow access to Microsoft 365 services and that their firewall or security features are not blocking OneDrive.
      • For more detail on required connectivity, see “Required URLs and ports for OneDrive” from the OneDrive fixes article.
    4. Restart or reinstall OneDrive correctly
    5. Check for account or storage issues that can affect services
      • If the OneDrive account is frozen (for example, storage exceeded), OneDrive and Outlook.com can be impacted.
      • If a “OneDrive account frozen” message was received, sign in with any other Microsoft account that might be associated (for example, one created via Samsung Gallery) and unfreeze it.
      • If sign‑in details for that other account are forgotten, use account recovery: https://account.live.com/username/recover
      • When Microsoft storage is exceeded and the account is frozen:
        • New files cannot be uploaded or synced to OneDrive.
        • Outlook.com cannot send or receive email.
        • Teams messages with attachments cannot be sent or received.
    6. If outgoing email is blocked due to storage
      • If Microsoft storage (OneDrive + Outlook.com) is over quota, outgoing email will stop even if incoming still works.
      • Reduce storage usage (delete or move files from OneDrive and/or email) or ensure the subscription and storage status are correct.
    7. If all else fails, use official support channels

If remote assistance is required, the Contact Microsoft Support flow is the supported path to reach an agent who can connect and work directly on the device.
