Why does an AD cover part of a game EVERYDAY?

I play Daily Mahjong and every day there is an ad that covers the right part of the game. The only way around that I have found is to reduce (shrink) the game. Any suggestions?

The ad on the right side is part of the built‑in advertising space in Microsoft Casual Games such as Microsoft Mahjong. These games reserve specific areas of the screen (for example, the right side of menu, gameplay, or daily challenge screens) for display ads, and that space is not removable from within the game.

Shrinking or resizing the game window so that the playable area fits comfortably beside or around the ad is the only behavior described in the available information. There is no documented in‑game setting to disable or move that ad area.

    Hi, I'm John!

That’s usually part of the game design. Some free games display ads like that.

    Here are your options:

    • Check if the game has a paid or ad-free version
    • Try reinstalling the game in case it’s glitching
    • Play in windowed mode (like what you’re doing now)

If the ad looks like it’s coming from outside the game (not part of it), then it could be a notification or overlay from Windows. Please let me know.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.
