Can't sign into business account, Authenticator doesn't work

I get caught in an endless loop because the log in keeps trying to verify itself in Microsoft Authenticator but Authenticator is not receiving the login verifications.

Microsoft Support has ghosted me. Does anyone have a way to fix this or to actually get someone at Microsoft to login somewhere and actually do tech support for their products?

ANYONE?

Based on the described loop, the account is protected by Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication (MFA) and the configured method (Microsoft Authenticator) is not completing the sign-in.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Complete the login inside Authenticator or broker app
      • When the browser or app says “Approve sign-in request,” open:
        • Microsoft Authenticator, or
        • Company Portal, or
        • The primary Microsoft 365 app on the device.
      • Complete the prompt there (number match or approve/deny).
      • If the broker app never shows a prompt, go to the next steps.
    2. Try a different MFA method (if configured)
      • On the MFA prompt page, select Other verification options (or similar) and choose:
        • Phone call (and press # when prompted), or
        • SMS code (enter the exact code received), or
        • Any other listed method.
      • If the error “Sorry, our account verification system is having trouble” appears, ensure the correct code is entered or the # key is pressed for calls, then retry. If still failing, use another method if available.
    3. If repeated attempts are blocked
      • Multiple failed sign-in attempts can cause Microsoft Entra MFA to temporarily block further attempts as a security measure.
      • Wait and try again later, or use a different MFA method if one is available.
      • If there is any suspicion of malicious activity, an IT administrator should review Microsoft Entra sign-in logs.
    4. If no MFA method works and access is still blocked
      • For a work or school account:
        • If this is not an admin account, contact the organization’s IT administrator or Help desk and ask them to reset MFA / authentication methods from the Microsoft Entra admin center.
        • If this is the only administrator account on the tenant and there is no alternative sign-in method, the Microsoft Data Protection team must be involved via a support ticket raised through the global customer service phone numbers. Frontline support can escalate to Data Protection to verify identity and reset MFA for the tenant admin.
      • If support via phone is hard to reach, one documented workaround for tenant admins is:
        • Create a new temporary Microsoft 365 trial tenant.
        • Sign in to the new tenant’s Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
        • Use Help & support to open a ticket explicitly asking the Data Protection team to help regain access to the original tenant where the admin is locked out by MFA.
        • After resolution, cancel the trial subscription.
    5. If verification codes are not arriving
      • Choose another verification method if possible, or wait until access to the registered phone/email is available.
      • Support agents cannot send verification codes or change account details directly for security reasons.

If none of the above is possible and there is no reachable admin or Data Protection escalation, self-service recovery is not available for a locked work/school tenant protected by MFA; only an admin or Microsoft support (Data Protection team) can reset those settings.
