Amazon Prime Flagging Family Safety Trigger

I used ti have no issues with Amazon Prime, then got logged out randomly for no reason one day. When I logged back in it asked me to have someone in my Microsoft Family approve my use of the app. When I click to send a request it takes me to a broken link and never loads to send the request, just says "We are working on it". The problem being, I am the only one in my Microsoft account and it is verifiable and verified that I am 18+. Furthermore, it is only amazon prime giving me this issue and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Could it be a amazon triggering a microaoft family age request? Also, I am not part of a Microaoft Family, so there is no reason for it to flag and did not flag before in the past.

Amazon Prime is likely triggering Microsoft Family Safety checks on the device, even though the account is an adult and not in a Family group. This can happen if Family Safety settings are still cached or enforced locally on Windows.

Use these steps to clear Family Safety enforcement on the device:

    1. Confirm the account is not in a Family group:
    2. Run the Family Safety reset task on the affected PC:
      • Press Windows + R to open Run.
      • Type cmd and select OK to open Command Prompt.
      • In Command Prompt, run:
             schtasks /run /tn "Microsoft\Windows\Shell\FamilySafetyRefreshTask"

      • Restart the computer.
      • These steps must be run on each impacted device.

This reset removes lingering Family Safety settings that can cause adult accounts (including those not in a Family group) to see child/consent prompts in apps like Amazon Prime.

If still in a Family group as an adult member and an organizer has applied restrictions, only the organizer can change those settings.

If Microsoft is still treating the account as underage because of the birthdate on the account, use the guidance in Managing parental consent to correct the birthdate and confirm adult status.
