A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Albums in the OneDrive Photos tab are only virtual collections (aggregated views), not real folders, so they cannot be moved or vaulted as a single unit.
To move items into Personal Vault, the actual files or folders must be moved from their real locations in OneDrive (for example, under My files → Pictures), not from the Photos/Albums view.
Use this approach:
- In OneDrive on the web, go to My files and browse to the real folder(s) that contain the photos from the album.
- Select the files or folders to vault.
- Select Move to.
- In the Move to pane, choose Personal Vault as the destination (or open the Personal Vault folder first, then move items into it).
Notes from the documentation:
- “You can't move photos from Photo view because this web-only view aggregates photos from various folder locations in OneDrive.” Albums behave the same way and also cannot be moved as a unit.
- Files can be added or moved to Personal Vault only by selecting the actual files/folders and using Move to with Personal Vault as the destination.
So there is no one-click way to vault an entire album; the underlying files must be selected and moved from their real folders.
