My computer had a virus and everything was wiped to get rid. I need to re-install what was on it, but am having difficulty finding out this information, and keep getting drop downs that I don't understand. I had windows 11 previously, but when new computer was bought in Feb 2024 it was 365 and I had access to free versions of Word, Excel etc. How do I go about solving this issue?

I tried that and it's a 32 bit and I need 64 bit, but when try finding option get bamboozled by all the drop down boxes

Which specific product do you have? For recent versions of Office, you should see the 64 bit by default, unless there is existing 32 bit Office software on your PC or if your PC is running 32 bit Windows of course.

Unfortunately, terminology isn't always transparent. 32 bit may be called "x86" while 64 bit is called "x64."

When you first activated Office that licence should have become associated to your Microsoft Account as a digital licence online and it is from there that you can re-install Office without the need for a product key:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

Do you find an Office licence listed on your account on that link.

You should be able to install your version of Office from the associated account. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and click the Install button next to the product name.

Had to disconnect a load of files (not sure were right ones) but then was able to download the 32-bit "x86" version.

Products I've purchaed: Office Home and Student 2013

Added to your account on 28 November 2014 (PII Removed) . When I try to install I get the error message 30033-44. I downloaded the 64-bit version and when I tried installing as a 64-bit I got an error message 0-1018(0), saying a version was in use. When I closed things it started to download, but nothing further happened, and I can't find anything in the settings

Try installing the 32 bit version instead, usually confusingly called "x86." For older Microsoft Office, 32 bit is/was actually recommended.
