When Windows 11 shows an update but also says the current version has reached end of service, the device needs to move to a newer supported Windows 11 version so it can keep receiving security updates.
Do the following:
- Open Start > Settings > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install all offered updates, especially any feature update to a newer Windows 11 version (for example, 23H2, 24H2, or later). This moves the device off the version that has reached end of servicing.
If no newer feature update appears:
- Confirm the device meets the minimum system requirements.
- Run the Windows Update troubleshooter and then check for updates again.
- If it still does not offer a newer version, use one of the manual update options described in similar guidance:
- Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
- Or download the latest Windows 11 ISO from the Microsoft Software Download page and perform an in-place upgrade, keeping files and apps.
If updates still do not appear or continue to fail, contact Microsoft Support or a qualified technician for help updating, or consider moving to a newer Windows 11 PC if the current device cannot support newer versions.
