To restore access to a purchased game on a Microsoft account, use the account’s order history and the Microsoft Store library.

    1. Confirm the correct Microsoft account
      • Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy the game.
      • If unsure which account was used, check all email inboxes for Microsoft purchase receipts (for example, receipts for digital games or subscriptions) as described in the “Email accounts” section. This helps confirm the exact Microsoft account address associated with the purchase.
    2. Check Order history
      • Go to the Microsoft account Order history page while signed in with the correct account.
      • Look for the purchased game in the list.
      • If the game appears there, select Product key/Install (if shown) to start download/installation or to see more details.
    3. Check the Microsoft Store library on Windows 10/11
      • Open Microsoft Store on the PC (Start → Microsoft Store).
      • Select the profile icon, then choose My Library.
      • Any app or game that is owned but not installed will show a Download icon next to it. Select the Download icon to install the game.
    4. Check the Microsoft Store library via the taskbar
      • On the taskbar, select the Microsoft Store icon.
      • Select More info near the account picture → My Library.
      • Again, look for the game and use the Download icon if it is not installed.
    5. If the game is an Xbox title
      • If it was purchased as an Xbox game, sign in on the Xbox console or the Xbox app for Windows with the same Microsoft account and check the library there, following the guidance to install from the Xbox app or on a console.
    6. If the purchase does not appear
      • If the game does not show in Order history under the expected account, it may have been purchased under a different Microsoft account. Use the email-receipt method above to identify the correct account.
      • If there is a charge that is not recognized or the game is missing despite a visible charge, use the Manage your payments page from the Microsoft account dashboard to investigate the charge and follow the charge troubleshooting guidance.

If the game appears in Order history and in My Library, it can be re-downloaded at no additional cost. If it does not appear under any Microsoft account that can be accessed, direct support from Microsoft may be required to review the purchase details.
