I registered for the PL300 exam today.

I made a mistake when registering, and now my email address is unfortunately different. Can you change it to [Moderator note: PII removed]@gmail.com ? That's the email address I used to open Microsoft. Move from: Community Center | Not monitored

Microsoft 365 and Office | Subscription, account, billing | Other | Other

    Hello Arzu Nuriyeva,

Thanks for reaching out about your PL-300 exam registration. I understand how stressful it can be when the email doesn’t match, especially this close to your exam. I’ll walk you through the best way to fix it depending on what exactly went wrong.

From your message, it sounds like the email used during registration is different from your Microsoft account email. This can affect how you receive exam details or access your booking.

There are a few possible scenarios, so here’s how to fix each one:

Option 1: Update where you receive emails

If you can still access your exam booking and just want emails sent to the correct inbox:

    1. Go to your Microsoft Learn profile settings
    2. Sign in with the same account used to schedule the exam
    3. Update your Contact Email to: ******@gmail.com

    For reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/support/learn-profile-manage

This will make sure all future notifications go to the right email.

Option 2: Fix your Microsoft account email (sign-in email)

If the issue is that you used the wrong email for your Microsoft account:

    1. Go to your Microsoft account settings
    2. Add ******@gmail.com as a new email (alias)
    3. (Optional) Set it as your primary sign-in email

    For more information: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/change-the-email-address-or-phone-number-for-your-microsoft-account-761a662d-8032-88f4-03f3-c9ba8ba0e00b

Use this if you want to log in with the correct email moving forward.

Option 3: Your exam booking is under the wrong account

If the exam was scheduled using a different email/account:

    Option A – Self-service:

    1. Sign in to your Learn profile
    2. Go to Credentials > Certifications
    3. Find your exam and choose Reschedule or Cancel

Rescheduling and cancellation policy details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/support/reschedule-and-cancellation-policy

Option B – Contact the exam provider: If you can’t access or modify the booking, please contact the exam provider directly:

Usually this is Pearson VUE (for Microsoft exams)

They can help locate your booking and update the details if possible.

One important note: For security reasons, email details on an exam booking usually can’t be changed directly by support unless verified through the exam provider.

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,

The email address on an existing Microsoft Learn / certification profile or exam registration cannot be directly changed from one Microsoft account to another. Instead, the supported approach is to add the desired email as an additional login to the same Learn profile and, if needed, link/merge profiles.

For a PL-300 exam already registered under the wrong email, use these steps:

    1. Keep using the same certification/Learn profile
      • The PL-300 registration is tied to the certification profile/Learn profile that was used at registration time.
      • That profile cannot be “moved” to a different standalone Microsoft account.
    2. Add the Gmail address as a login to the existing Learn profile
    3. Set the Gmail address for Learn communications (optional)
      • After adding the Gmail login, set the preferred email for communications in the Learn profile settings so notifications go to the Gmail address.
      • Guidance: “Also ensure that you set the email address for communications on https://learn.microsoft.com/users/me/settings”.
    4. If there are already two different Learn profiles
      • If one profile uses the original email and another uses the Gmail email, they cannot be fully “transferred” from one to the other, but they can be linked/merged as per the Learn documentation:
        • “You cannot transfer from one Learn profile to another. You can link and merge Learn profiles.”
        • Use the Learn profile management guidance to link/merge so that exam history and certifications are consolidated.
    5. What cannot be done
      • The PL-300 exam registration cannot be reassigned from one independent Microsoft account to another by support.
      • The primary method is to keep the existing certification profile and add the Gmail address as an additional login/alias, then use that Gmail address to sign in going forward.

If additional help is needed (for example, trouble signing in or seeing the exam under the expected profile), use the Learn profile management pages referenced below and the FAQ on merging profiles.
