Inquiry About Accessing Call Health Metrics on Microsoft Teams Mobile Application

Dear Microsoft Teams Support Team,

My name is [Moderator note: personal info removed], and I am working at [Moderator note: personal info removed] as a Wi-Fi Systems Engineer.

At [Moderator note: personal info removed] , we would like to perform Wi-Fi performance validation tests using the Microsoft Teams application within our own test setups. In brief, we connect a client device either to a gateway (GW) or an extender, initiate a call through Microsoft Teams on the client side, and monitor several call-related performance parameters during the test.

The parameters we would like to observe are the metrics available under the Call Health section within Settings, specifically under the following four main categories:

  • Network
  • Audio
  • Video
  • Screen Sharing

Our goal is to monitor these metrics throughout the entire test duration.

When we use a Minix PC as the client device, we are able to initiate a Teams call and access the relevant performance metrics through the Call Health section within the Microsoft Teams application.

However, when we use a mobile phone as the client device and start a Teams call via the Microsoft Teams mobile application, we are unable to find or access the Call Health section on the mobile device.

We would like to ask:

  • Is it possible to access Call Health metrics on the Microsoft Teams mobile application?
  • If not, is there any alternative way to retrieve these performance metrics on mobile phones?
  • Are these metrics available through any diagnostic mode, admin interface, log export, or other supported method?
  •

We would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter.

    Hello @Ali Aytekin,

Thank you for your detailed question and for explaining your testing scenario.

Regarding your first question, Call Health metrics are not available directly in the Microsoft Teams mobile application. Unlike the desktop client, the mobile app does not expose the Call Health section with real‑time network, audio, video, or screen‑sharing metrics. This is a current product limitation and not related to configuration or permissions.

For your second question, while these metrics are not visible in real time on the mobile device itself, there is an alternative way to review performance telemetry after the call has completed, provided you have access to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.

Based on my testing, once a Teams call initiated from a mobile device has ended, you can retrieve call quality and telemetry details by doing the following:

    User's image

    • Select the relevant user account
    • Open the "Meetings & calls" section
    • Under "Completed meetings", select the mobile call session you want to review

    User's image

    • Then choose one of the participants to check call telemetry and quality information related to that session.

    User's image

User's image Please note that the data is not available immediately after the call ends. There is typically a delay of approximately 1 hour before the call details and metrics are fully processed and visible in the Admin Center. This is expected behavior.

Also, please note that only users with the appropriate IT administrator permissions in the tenant can access the Microsoft Teams Admin Center and view these call quality details.

While this approach does not provide real‑time monitoring during the test, it can be useful for post‑call analysis and validation when testing Teams performance on mobile devices.

I hope this clarifies the current capabilities and available options. Please feel free to let me know if you have any follow‑up questions.

    Kind regards,

Call health metrics in Microsoft Teams are documented and available in the desktop and web clients during a meeting or call via More actions → Settings → Call health. These metrics cover the four categories listed (Network, Audio, Video, Screen sharing) and are intended for real‑time monitoring on those clients.

The provided documentation and related materials describe how to:

    • Open Call health from the meeting controls.
    • Interpret Network, Audio, Video, and Screen sharing metrics (roundtrip time, packet loss, bitrates, frame rates, processing type, etc.).

However, there is no information in the referenced documentation indicating that the same Call health experience or equivalent metric view is exposed in the Microsoft Teams mobile applications (iOS/Android), nor any mention of:

    • A mobile‑specific Call health UI.
    • A diagnostic mode on mobile that surfaces these metrics.
    • Any log export, admin interface, or alternative supported method to retrieve the same per‑call metrics from the mobile client.

The only other in‑product health view in the context is for producing Teams live events, where a Health and performance panel is available in the producer dashboard. This is also documented only for the desktop experience and is not described as available on mobile.

Based on the available documentation in the context:

    • Call health metrics are documented for desktop/web clients during meetings and calls.
    • A separate health/performance panel is documented for live event producers on desktop.
    • No supported way is documented to access or export these detailed call health metrics from Teams mobile apps, nor via another interface specifically for mobile clients.
