How to download Paint?

My Microsoft Store doesn't work, i've tried repairing, resetting, wsrest.exe, nothing works, it keeps on not loading, help!

It looks like your system has problem with Microsoft Store and also is missing Paint package.

You should perform an In-place upgrade to fix the problem.

Have you made any changes to your computer recently?

Please let me know if you have tried the methods below.

• If you have a third-party VPN or Antivirus installed, please try to temporarily uninstall it then check if the issue persists.
• Please try changing your Region to United States if it helps.
• Check the Microsoft Store Install Service

Press the Windows Key + S and type in services.msc.

Find the Microsoft Store Install Service and double click, If the status is Running, right click it then select Restart

If disabled, change it to Automatic, click Start and click OK.

Please try to run SFC and DISM to check for any system errors and corrupted files.

After that, restart your computer

Reset the Microsoft Store app

Press Start then search Microsoft Store

Right click it then select App settings

Click Terminate > Repair > Reset

Follow these steps on Windows 11 to try to get Microsoft Store working so Paint (Microsoft Paint / Paint 3D) can be installed or updated:

1. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
   1. Press Windows logo key + R to open Run.
   2. Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
   3. A blank Command Prompt window opens; after about 10 seconds it closes and Microsoft Store should open automatically.
2. Make sure Windows is fully updated
   1. Open Settings > Update & Security (Windows 10 path; on Windows 11 use Windows Update).
   2. Select Check for updates and install all available updates.
   3. Restart the PC and try Microsoft Store again.
3. Check that Microsoft Store is correctly installed and registered
   1. Open PowerShell as a normal (non‑admin) user.
   2. Run:

            Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.WindowsStore*
      

      If nothing is returned, or Store is broken for this user, check if the package exists for any user:
   3. Open PowerShell as administrator and run:

            Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.WindowsStore* -AllUsers
      

      If details are returned, re‑register Store for the current user (run in a non‑elevated PowerShell window):

            Add-AppxPackage -RegisterByFamilyName -MainPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe
      

   4. After this, try opening Microsoft Store again.
4. If Store still will not open Work through the general Store troubleshooting steps:
   • Confirm the PC has the latest Windows updates.
   • Check time, date, and region settings are correct.
   • Ensure Microsoft Store is not blocked from downloading updates.

Once Microsoft Store opens and works again, search for Paint or Paint 3D in Microsoft Store and select Install or Get to download it.
