Upgraded Calendor is hard to use

The updated Calendar is for the birds, wiped out all my appointments. They are very important to me as a Senior Man; I relied on all the work I did to keep them on my calendar, which is now lost. Not only did you update, but no instructions on how to use the new calendar.

Whoever okayed the upgrade should be fired, as they took no consideration of how many may not know how to use or even be able to write posted appointments, since you did not specify a date for the change.

Your question is tagged Web | Outlook.com | Calendar which means you access Outlook in a browser.

But it sounds like maybe you were using Classic Outlook for Windows and got switched to New Outlook for Windows?

Which of these looks like what you used to see and what you now see when you open Outlook?

    Hi Michael Alvidrez,

I’m sorry this has been so frustrating, especially since those appointments were important to you.

In many cases with Outlook.com on the web, appointments are not actually gone, but can become hard to see due to account, calendar selection, or display settings after an update.

Please try the following in order:

    1. Confirm you’re signed into the correct account

Select your profile picture at the top right and make sure it’s the same Outlook.com / Hotmail / Live account you were using previously.

    1. Make sure your calendar is turned on

Open Calendar and check the left pane. Ensure your main calendar has a check mark. If you have multiple calendars, turn them on one at a time. Outlook on the web hides events when a calendar is unchecked.

    1. Check Deleted Items and recovery

Open Deleted Items, then select Recover items deleted from this folder at the top and look for missing appointments.

    1. Review time zone and display settings

Select the gear icon and review your Calendar settings, including time zone. Also check display density, as more compact layouts can make events easier to miss.

    1. If events appear faint, open one and check “Show as”

Depending on the view, events marked Free can be less noticeable than those marked Busy.

    1. Contact Outlook.com support if needed

Select Help (?) in Outlook.com, describe the issue, and if the self‑help steps don’t resolve it, scroll to Still need help? and choose Yes to contact support.

One important note: for Outlook.com in a browser, there isn’t an official Microsoft option to switch back to an older web calendar layout. That type of toggle applies to New vs Classic Outlook for Windows, not Outlook.com on the web.

If the appointments still don’t appear, it would help to know whether this is a personal Outlook.com / Hotmail / Live account, and whether the issue happens in all browsers or only one.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like assistance in navigating Microsoft's Support Channel.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
