I use Microsoft Publisher to wrangle pictures, no text.

I use Microsoft Publisher to wrangle pictures (photos, scans of my own art and magazine photos), to reuse in collage and journal art. I never incorporate text into this. I make up a page full of mixed art, print it out, cut it up or use as is, and Microsoft Publisher is the only tool in their 365 collection that actually works decently for this. The measurement guides on each side of the workspace are very helpful if I want to fit one of the pieces a certain way. Neither Word, nor PowerPoint have anything like this option; they are in fact, totally useless for my purpose. I DO NOT need a program that works around adding text, charts, graphs, etc. Just a place I can drag and drop jpeg files and rearrange them on the page to suit my fancy, and print them out on a standard sheet of paper. Any suggestions for a platform that will do this? Photoshop? (My next quest will be finding a replacement for Excel, which is the only other Microsoft 365 product I regularly use, and I'm not paying the price for just that one thing. I'll go back to using paper and pen for my Word rambles. I might just let my son talk me into converting to Linux if Microsoft keeps jettisoning or wrecking all their useful parts.

You might want to investigate some of the Open Source suites such as LibreOffice.
