IoT Hubs per subscription limit

We currently have an infrastructure design that focuses on creating a single IoT Hub per customer site. However, this is not going to be viable for long due to the 50 IoT Hub subscription limit. Is it possible to increase this limit per subscription, and if so by how much could we increase it?

Best,

Javier H.

    Hello Javier Huamani,

Thank you for reaching out to us

Azure enforces a platform-level limit on the number of IoT Hubs per subscription to maintain service reliability and control-plane stability. Consequently, architectures that provision a dedicated IoT Hub for each customer site may face scalability constraints as the solution expands.

Further validation is needed to assess whether adjustments or exceptions may apply to this specific subscription and usage pattern. As service limits and quota considerations are evaluated at the subscription level, engaging Azure Support is the recommended next step to enable a formal review in the appropriate context, including subscription configuration, intended usage, and available options.

    To proceed, please

    • Open an Azure Support request under Subscription Management / Quotas
    • Reference the IoT Hub per‑subscription limit as the primary concern
    • Include details about the current and projected IoT Hub usage model
    • Request guidance on supported next steps based on the intended scale

    Thank you.
