    Hi Lepa,

I see you pressed no below my post.

The steps below should work next:

Please try a repair install as the next step. It keeps everything, including apps and files, and reinstalls Windows.

Repair Install Windows 11 using an ISO file

    https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2021/08/repair-install-windows-11-using-an-iso-file.html

    1. Download Windows 11 ISO file from the following link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/Windows11

    1. Under Download ISO file, select Windows 11.
    2. Click Download and choose the Language in which Windows is installed.
    3. Click 64-bit Download to start the download.
    4. When downloaded, open the ISO file, and run Setup.exe to start the upgrade.

    Hi Lepa,

May I know if the error code is 800704cf?

    1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    2. Type services.msc and hit Enter to open the Services window.
    3. Scroll down and find “Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant.” Right-click on it and select Restart.
    4. Next, locate “Microsoft Cloud Identity Service.” Right-click on it and select Restart.
    5. Open any Office app — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or any other — and try signing in again. The 0x800704cf sign in error should be gone.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

Follow these steps in order, testing OneDrive after each step:

    1. Confirm sign-in and basic connectivity
      • Open a browser and sign in to the Microsoft Account dashboard to confirm the account and password work.
      • Browse to other websites to confirm general internet access.
    2. Check firewall / ISP blocking
      • Temporarily connect the PC through a different network (for example, a mobile hotspot). If OneDrive connects there, the issue is likely with the router, firewall, VPN, or internet provider.
      • If using a VPN, disconnect it and try again.
      • If using a third‑party firewall or security suite, temporarily disable it and test.
      • If OneDrive still cannot connect, contact the internet provider and confirm they allow access to Microsoft 365 services. See also the guidance under “Required URLs and ports for OneDrive” in the OneDrive sign‑in article.
    3. Restart OneDrive client
      • Select Windows Start and search for OneDrive.
      • If it is not running, start it and try to sign in again.
      • If it is running but shows “not connected,” close/quit it from the notification area, then start it again from Start.
    4. Reset OneDrive (for connection error codes like 0x80040c81)
      • Error Code 0x80040c81 indicates OneDrive is having trouble connecting to the cloud and can be fixed by resetting OneDrive.
      • After resetting, try signing in again.
      • If using a wired connection, follow the guidance in How to fix your network connection from the error‑code article.
      • If using Wi‑Fi, follow How to fix Wi‑Fi problems from the same article.
    5. Update Windows and OneDrive
      • Open Settings → Windows Update and install all available updates.
      • Download and install the latest OneDrive client from the official OneDrive download page, then restart the computer.
    6. If still unable to connect or sign in
      • For personal accounts: use the Microsoft account sign‑in helper if there are any sign‑in issues with the account itself.
      • For work or school accounts: reset the password if needed, or contact the organization’s IT admin.
      • If the problem persists across networks and after updates, follow the additional troubleshooting and, if necessary, create a support incident as described in the OneDrive sync‑issues article.
