Hi @James Clarkson,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.
It looks like you’ve already redeemed your 12-month GitHub Enterprise benefit, but it auto-tied that license to a “new” org instead of your existing trial account. Here’s what you can try:
Retrieve your activation code
- Go to Partner Center (or Visual Studio Benefits portal) where you redeemed the offer.
- You should see a “View activation code” or “Get code” button under your GitHub Enterprise benefit. Copy that code.
Apply it to your existing GitHub Enterprise trial org
- Sign in to github.com with the org owner account for your trial.
- In the upper-right corner, click your profile → “Your organizations.”
- Select the trial org, then go to Settings → Billing → “Enterprise Cloud” → “Add seats” or “Redeem code.”
- Paste your 12-month activation code and confirm. This should upgrade your trial rather than creating a new org.
Troubleshoot the “Create new org” redirect
- If “Redeem code” only shows a “Create a new org” flow, try Clearing cookies or using an Incognito/private window • Logging out and back in • Visiting https://github.com/organizations/enterprise/redeem directly
If you still can’t apply it to your existing org
- Your activation code may have been consumed without assignment.
- Open a support case with GitHub: https://support.github.com/contact/account Reference that you redeemed the VS subscriber GitHub Enterprise benefit and need it moved to [your trial-org name].Or reach out to your Microsoft Engagement Manager / Global MAICPP admin to have the benefit re-issued.
Hope that helps you get your entitlement applied to the right org before your trial ends!
