My last name has changed

Question

I've updated my Last name https://account.microsoft.com/profile/edit-name on 31/03/2026 but didn't reflect on my profile under legal name. Also, I'm trying to book my eaxm for AZ-104 via Pearson VUE still my last name hasn't change. Please can someone help ?

The legal name used for Microsoft certification exams is separate from the general Microsoft account display name and may not update automatically when the profile name is changed.

For Microsoft Learn and certification-related details:

1. Update the Microsoft Learn profile display name (this affects public profile, certificates, and transcripts):
   • Select the profile icon in the top-right of Microsoft Learn.
   • Select Settings.
   • Under Personal info, username, and URL, update the display name.
   • Select Save.
2. For the legal name used for exams booked via Pearson VUE:
   • The legal name field is managed separately from the general profile name.
   • If the legal name is incorrect or duplicated and is preventing or affecting exam delivery, the recommended path is to contact certification support so the legal name can be corrected on the certification profile.
   • Use the certification support channel referenced for legal name issues and request an update of the legal name before booking or sitting the exam.

Note that name changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate across Microsoft services, but if the legal name in the certification profile still does not match after that, direct support intervention is required.
