I have entered first name in place of last name and vice versa while I was registering for Microsoft PL-300 exam. So, I want to correct that now.

Try changing your legal name on your account on this link:

If you have an exam scheduled, then you may be blocked from changing your name and you should see an error message and a link to contact the Credentials Support to request a name change.

The first and last name used for Microsoft certification exams come from the Microsoft account / certification profile. To correct a swapped first and last name before or after an exam, the change must be made in the account/profile that holds the certification data, and in some cases requires support.

For Microsoft accounts in general, the display name (first/last) can be updated by signing in to the Microsoft account and editing the name:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft account associated with the exam registration.
    2. Go to the account profile page and choose Edit name.
    3. Correct the first and last name fields and select Save.
    4. Allow up to 24 hours for the updated name to appear everywhere.

If the issue is specifically with the legal name used for certification exams (for example, the name that appears on exam records or is checked by the proctor), and it cannot be corrected through normal profile editing, contact certification support so the legal name can be fixed on the certification profile:

    • Use the certification support page to open a support request and ask for a correction of the legal name on the certification profile.

If the proctor or exam system has already blocked an attempt because of a name mismatch, support is required to update the legal name before retaking or rescheduling.
