Issues with Excel Crashing

I work with Excel throughout the day everyday. Since Monday the program keeps crashing. Usually when I add a date. The only way out of it is to use the task manager and lose any progress. Please call me at 3465324901

Since Excel is crashing, I recommend repairing the Office app by following the steps below:

Press the Windows key + R, then type in:

 

appwiz.cpl

 

Then hit OK

 

Look for the Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 app > Right-click, then select Change> Click Quick repair and select repair.

Once done, restart the PC and check.

1. Check for known Excel crash issues and updates

• Install all available Office/Microsoft 365 updates.
• Review the known crash/performance issues list for scenarios that match the behavior (for example, crashes when switching sheets, IME/input issues, or specific add-ins) and apply the documented fix or workaround where applicable.

    • Excel 365 might stop responding or experience performance problems when switching between worksheets.
    • Excel may stop or close when using new IME in Windows 11.
    • Excel may crash when running multiple instances that use clipboard functionality programmatically.

2. Test in a clean environment If basic steps (updates, safe mode, disabling add-ins) have already been tried or do not help, test for environmental causes as described in the advanced troubleshooting guidance:

• File location:
  • Copy the workbook from any network, SharePoint, Webfolder, redirected “Documents”, Remote Desktop/Citrix, or virtualized location to a local folder (for example, Desktop or C:\Users\<user>\Documents) and work only on the local copy.
  • If Excel stops crashing on the local copy, the issue is likely related to the network/storage environment rather than the file itself.
• Memory/resources:
  • Large workbooks with heavy formatting and shapes can cause hangs and crashes if system RAM is low.
  • Close other applications and large workbooks and test again.
• Printers and video drivers:
  • Excel is printer‑intensive and reads the default printer and video driver at startup.

3. Try a different workbook and a simple date entry

• Create a new blank workbook and enter dates in a few cells.
