I used to know how to insert a non-breaking space in Word, older versions, but the shortcut doesn't seem to work now and I can't find where the answer might be within the app. So how to I do this today? Thank you!

To insert a non-breaking space in current versions of Word on Windows:

    Method 1: Keyboard shortcut

    • Place the cursor where the non-breaking space is needed.
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar.

Method 2: Using the Symbol dialog

    1. Place the cursor where the non-breaking space is needed.
    2. Go to the Insert tab.
    3. In the Symbols group, select Symbol > More Symbols.
    4. In the Symbol dialog, select the Special Characters tab.
    5. Select Nonbreaking Space, then choose Insert.
    6. Select Close.

This keeps the words on the same line and prevents them from being split at the end of a line.
