A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
Hello @Weldon Calvin ,
If you’ve changed phones and no longer have access to the old one, the Authenticator app can’t generate or approve codes from that lost device, which is why you’re stuck in the loop; however, the fact that you’re still signed in on your desktop does help. From your desktop browser, go to your Microsoft account’s security or “My Sign-ins” page and remove the old Authenticator sign-in method, then add a new one for your current phone, this lets you set up Microsoft Authenticator again without needing the old device. If you had cloud backup enabled previously, installing the app on the new phone and choosing Restore from backup during setup may automatically recover your accounts; if not, you’ll need to sign in on the web first and re-register the app or use alternative verification (SMS/email) if available. Microsoft documents this recovery and re‑registration process here: Restore Authenticator accounts from backup (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/authenticator/restore-account-credentials-from-microsoft-authenticator) and Back up or recover Authenticator accounts (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/authenticator/back-up-your-accounts-in-microsoft-authenticator, and if you get blocked at sign‑in, follow the account recovery flow at https://account.microsoft.com/security.
